Welcome to Saint James Church!
James Island, Charleston, S.C.
|
|
Thank you for visiting our church website, we are glad you are here! With so many churches to visit these days, we hope this site will be helpful and informative. We are an Episcopal Congregation building a Kingdom Community of followers of Jesus Christ. By the Grace of Jesus Christ Saint James will be a community of Christians where worship will nourish you, where you will receive Godly teaching, where your gifts will be utilized, and your needs recognized. To visit us in person, visit the About Us page for directions on how to find us.
If you are visiting our church and/or other churches looking for a church home, please visit the Welcome Desk to speak with one of our greeters. We would love to tell you more about Saint James. The Welcome Desk is on the left in the main entrance of the Ministry Center, and someone is there to help you every Sunday.
Are you new to Saint James? Would you like to know more about our church community? Come to the Welcome Desk in the Ministry Center after the 10:30am Sunday Worship Services and one of our members will answer any questions you might have.
Look around this website to see what's happening in the Body of Christ at Saint James. Take a look at our Christian Education offerings for Adults and Children. Stop by our Resources and listen to a sermon while reading along with the notes. Check out our Youth groups and programs, visit the Small Groups we have and read about the Ministries where you can serve and be served. You can even look through our Parish Photo Album to find pictures from various events, missions and travels.
To navigate this site, notice, at the top of the page, a menu of the seven sections, each with its own color. Underneath this you will find pop-up menus allowing you to choose additional content within each section. At the bottom of each page will be additional links that correspond to the items in the pop-up menus.
You can get a snapshot of what's going on at Saint James Church (and sometimes other churches in the area) by checking out the M.E.N.U. (Ministry Events and News for Us), our Calendar of Events, and The EPISTLE, our parish newsletter.
If you visit this site often, you might find our Recently Updated Items a helpful tool in finding new information.

Sunday Worship Services
We offer three distinct styles of worship every Sunday morning. At our 8:00am service we offer a service from the Book of Common Prayer with no music. Our 10:30am service in the Ministry Center features contemporary praise music lead by our Praise Team using acoustic guitars, piano and light percussion. For the 10:30 am service in the Church we have a full choir and pipe-organ featuring traditional music from the Hymnal and other sacred works.
